30 fps on half size, have the option "hide mouse cursor in video" checked and depending on what you want, choose with or without sound.
I generally go for without sound so that it makes my editing job later on easier if i wanna add in any music. Also if you don't want numbers
up in the corner of your video check "Hide Overlay" aswell, atleast thats how i have mine set.

Heres an example of one of my fraps vids on this setting:

Well, hope that helped Very Happy

Yeah, if you use full size the file you record tends to become like 2.5G for a death match game
but you are right, it looks good. Very Happy

You can always re-encode to a different filetype.

I use an unlocked version of Fraps and an unlocked version of AVS Video Editor 4. Together they make my videos which come out like this:

just wanna ask... for that image from Windows Movie Maker/AVS..., what settings are you using? have you try saved in 480 or 720 quality?

*windows movie maker seems to work fine for most people... even me myself... so you mind post up your movie editing settings?

I record in windowed (no Res modding) mode, then input it through AVS. I don't even need to touch any settings. Haven't tried it on Full Screen...

I find using WMM is horrible, and going below 45FPS affects your gameplay, even if you don't notice. Try going max(60FPS) on fraps and use another program like Virtual Dub, sony vegas, or Adobe Premiere CS#

Edit: the Fraps files are "uncompressed" which is why they are so nice and HQ. You have to use a good enough codec to get a certain quality.
