Melee Lesson #2: MCA

MCA, also know as Movement Canceling Acceleration is technique create to quickly move away from target after any amt of melee slash.

Step 1: Use melee attack 1
Step 2: Soon as it finish, whether its on the first hit or the last hit or any hit, switch to weapon 2 but do not fire
Step 3: Boost away using WW, AA, SS, or DD.

Usually after you melee someone then boost away normally, there's a slight delay of 0.5-1.0s. MCA removes that delay so soon as u hit, u can boost out. Chinese's nickname for MCA is Shou Dao which means unsheath the sword, which is the action of removing ur weapon 1 by switching to weapon 2. The usefulness of this skill is infinite and it used for any melee purposes. For starters, if you miss you first melee slash, u can MCA away before ur enemy have a chance to catch you. Also in facing two enemies or a group, u can go in melee someone 2-3 times then MCA out before their rocks can catch you. Its nice lil technique to use against a guarded scissor. Other usage with MCA lies with melee someone twice, and then MCA behind the enemy to crit them before they have a chance to attack. The highest lvl of MCA usage is keep on 2 hitting the enemy and mca to another side then continue the combo, which allows you to dodge melee specials! In high melee playing, rock rarely finish the 5 hit combo because by that time, reinforcement shall arrive already on ur ass.

So you have to learn not to be greedy and perform MCA in terms of guerrilla tactics. Don't bite off more than you can chew and melee when it counts. Your goal is to survive and MCA is another handy tool that can be put in ur utility belt along with ZBS. On a side note, That MCA around enemy to crit him can be countered if the enemy can perform ZBS well. While ur moving, he can't do regular melee on yea but he can zbs, which has no delay what so ever in the attack.

I figure my clan can use a couple more rock applicants so just throwing this technique out there. But note, MCA doesn't work well on all units, because some units have a long first slash such as all paper units and the exception of all rocks, SE-R without limit release activated. Of course, even though rocks are the best candidates for MCA, all units can use mca, just not as well. In fact, best unit to mca with is Hyper Shining, u can notice the difference right away.

once again i need to add, don't be too greedy. If u first hit miss, don't bother with the second slash because all ur doing is hitting air and standing still for ur enemy to catch you, as some of us learned today... The key is to perform the action quickly so once first hit miss, get the hell out.

Erm..Alucious or anyone here can train me MCA?? cos i dun knw wads wrong with my MCA..i jus kept gettin caught most of the time...isit me which is lousy and boost out wrong direction or the person dat caught me is too pro?? and yeah i am using Zeta beam saber and oppenent is oso Zeta beam saber.....

Eh I can teach you, although I don't know how you'd want to(trade blows in 1v1 pvp?). I have a mic and can use skype/vent to help you out.

Is this the same thing as when people melee switch to weapon 2 and shoot ? then melee again?

uh, no, that's 2+1, which does work anymore because there's a delay between switching weapons now.

okay, so ive learned mca, and i can do it about nonstop in the practice field, but i find that i'm just using ww to dash and moving the mouse to move. while this works fine in theory, i'm constantly overshooting when i try to mca around the target. should i use q or e to dash instead?
