Melee Lesson #1: Zero Boost Slash (ZBS)

The most basic skill that all rock players should know is the Zero Boost Slash(ZBS), aka Shuai Dao by chinese players or Look away slash by certain irc players. Basically when u are swinging at ur enemy, u'll notice a slight boost no matter how close you are to the target. This waste time and it'll never end if u two keep trying to attack each other. Now the ZBS bypass this by getting riding of that lil boost so u can attack right away.

How to hit a ZBS(Zero Boost Slash):
1. Facing target straight on
2. Turn 90 degree to the side
3. quickly press attack while swinging back at the enemy at the same time

Now when there's no enemy nearby, u can swing without boost. Thus, the name Zero Boost Slash comes from. By turning 90 degree, it tricks the server to think that there's no target, and it'll do a no boost and by the time u turn to hit the enemy, server will be too late to boost you.

This lil technique used to be used for 2+1 combo until it was obsolete due to the 5 hit melee limit. But still, its very useful when you and ur enemy special each other at the same time and it cancels. As soon as it happens, u can ZBS away and combo him to death. Otherwise... u'll get this 2 units keep boosting and hit each other at the same time till one or both of them fall down at the same time...

well, its programed that way. If you think that's bad, you shoulda seen SS, lol. Anyways, ZBS is totally legitimized by the Koreans servers and used in all KOC matches. If it was a bug/ exploit then i think they would've been disqualified long time ago. That being said, either learn it or don't. A lot of taiwan players already know how to do it and if u don't catch up, well, its gonna be ur ass on the ground. Just don't be sending a complaint to wasabi regarding bug exploit that cause you to lose your KOC match.

Last time somebody did this we got ip blocked ...beacuse they're bitch~

uh, actually first time they IP block is cuz 9you complaint about their players going over to taiwan, so Korean officials asked Taiwan server to ip ban china and hongkong. Cept wasabi was lazy and they just did a global ban. Lets not get into this... i'll delete any other post that's not on topic from this point on.

I pretty much combine my skills from games all over including Gunz. Too bad there's a limit on boost though.

That said, ZBS are quite helpful, just needs some time getting used to it. I'm still practicing it though, since I can do it only about 30% of the time, given that another enemy is there sometimes when you turn.

actually, it doesn't have to have be 90 degree. Just enough so ur enemy is out of target. Uh, u can actually turn from any direction. If there's too many enemy nearby, u can do it from either bottom view or top view, doesn't have to do it from left or right.
